Happy Birthday!

Yes this week it's a happy birthday heartstones post. :) I'll resume the normal week by week blog next week.

The next sentence I'm going to type out may well seem like some kind of obsessed teenage sad memory.

Today it is Heartstones birthday. Well actually tomorrow is Heartstones birthday because today is christmas day. I'm writing this in my Dads kitchen somewhere in the midst of mountains in Scotland. But yes, by the time you read this it'll be Boxing Day and that means that it's the day I came up with the initial idea, and wrote down the first couple of pages of

Heartstones.

It's hard to believe that it was one year ago since I started this project.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEARTSTONES!

Sad eh? Yeah I know. But when you get something in your mind, whether that be a book, game, film, jwellery, brand of shoes, television show, flowers, stories, pens, pencils or just a picture in your head and you soon find that the object or image or just anything is in your life constantly.

A year ago today I didn't actually think that it'd still being written. Truth be told that I'm only just getitng towards the end of volume three (there's four volumes) because I've just been so busy. But I know that when everythings finished and dusted off, and Kathryn draws those first couple of pages it will be fantastic.

And that's why I wanted to say Happy Birthday to Heartstones. Because it's special to me, why on earth I remember the actual date I thought of it and wrote it down I have no idea. That's not something I'm going to understand, but I love it anyway.

I love this project, I love the world, I love the characters and the plot.

What more could a writer ask for?

Maybe a best friend who's stuck with me on this for the last year? Yeah, that's pretty brilliant too. :) Heartstones would not be like this if it hadn't been for her, it's not just my world. It's Kathryns as well, and I need to thank her for her upmost support, creativity and love towards this project. If we have another year of upmost dedication towards this project (which undoubtably we will!) then I can only imagine how much more developed this story will bein every single aspect.

Thankyou Kathryn. I'm always going to appreciate the support you have in this project, and every other project that I've done. You've been brilliant. :) Love you!

Also, happy holidays. Whatever it is you're doing at this time of year, I hope you're having a brilliant time. :)

Week Four

Wow it's been four weeks already since I've made this little blog?!

What a month!

Anyway. :D First off, I need to say a pre HAPPY CHRISTMAS! to everyone. :) Next week I don't know whats going to happen in terms of the making of blog so I may as well say it all now. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This week I've suffered with a bit of Writers Block when it comes to writing Heartstones. Partly because I've just been so busy with work I haven't had time to think properly and because of that it's made me exhaustead. Writers Block comes when you get tired and unfortunately Heartstones has suffered becuase of that.

But I have two weeks off! (thank god!) so I can sit down and write more of the script.

We know what the ending is going to be like, it's just getting the bits in the middle to match up where the problems seem to lie! But we're getting there, it's just a way of making things flow and I seem to be finding that a bit difficult at the moment.

Once again I think that's because I'm exhaustead.

Kathryn has done some brilliant drawings this week as well. :) She did a Doctor Who themed comic strip (which was inspired by this months Doctor Who comic strip The Crimson Hand: Part one.) When that's finished, I may well upload it! But she hasn't finished drawing that yet! :P

She's done another funny little one of Jack as a Doctor from scrubs. So yes, he's wearing those blue uniforms which always look quite funny!

She's done another one that involves a baby being held by some of the characters. It's a little "what if" scenrio drawing that came from me having a big squee over the baby Ants in the animated film Antz and telling Kathryn she had to draw so and sos baby. :)

So she did. We decided it was a boy, and couldn't decide on his name! I'm still trying to work that one out. I wanted to make it quite special for this little baby... he may well become a main character in another story of mine.

But anyway. In case I don't update next week (although I think I may do!)

Have a brilliant Christmas.

Week Three:

I'm exhaustead.

This week has been mad, we've been filming (about five times in the last week! which I can add is probably the most about of filming we've done in college in one week!) and now here I am at the end of the weeks and I'm exhaustead.

I don't know if anyone has ever read any of my lj blog but you may have heard somewhere along there that this last few weeks have been quite tough. And subsequently it's left me exhaustead, thank god for christmas!

Heartstones has had quite a few important questions answered this week. Of course if I were to specify what exactly those events were then I'd be giving one massive spoiler away. So I'm keeping quiet on the nature of the events.

But they're all very dramatic for the characters and story, and us creators. Poor Kathryn was almost in tears when she drew it, and when I read the mini comic she did of the scene I was as well.

We love this project. :) That's what happens when you come so attached to something, the tear works start at dramatic scenes. :D

It's good fun though!

So yes, that's what happened this week. Tears, filming (oh and film scripts for Heartstones, yes it's been made into a film. Only a student one though! I am after all a student.) and tiredness. :D

but brilliant.

I wouldn't want it any other way!

Week Two:

This week has been mad. Not only did Kathryn and I go christmas shopping, whilst we were christmas shopping we worked something out about a certain character and...well it's safe to say that they're sanity will never be the same again!

I can't wait to show you all! :D But you'll have to wait until the comic actually updates before that happens!

Writing wise it's been a slow and long journey for Heartstones. I've just not had the time to sit down and write more of the script properly, much to my dismay! But I'm hoping that next week I'll have better news in the writing department because the story is constantly being developed by Kathryn and I.

So much so we've made a comic. It's very short, in fact it's just the page below. And from what I can see it doesn't reveal any kind of major spoiler. So I'm very pleased and excited to announce that the first ever comic strip of Heartstone Odyssey has been made! :D

It's a very random scene, Kathryn drew the picture and I suddenly added the dialogue in the pencil. But it's the first one we've done! :D And I hope that as the weeks go by there's going to be more little comics like this. :D

The characters are Eliza and Jack by the way. :)
